We’ve moved into the practical phase, where students are exploring different separation techniques in preparation for a larger investigation: separating salt from rock salt.

To kick things off, we’re starting with a simple but effective method: using a magnet to separate magnetic metals from non-magnetic materials. It’s a great way to introduce the idea that physical properties can be used to separate substances.

Our World Earth Day journey continues! Our planting project is now well underway, with hebes, lavender, and a variety of other pollinator-friendly plants settling into their new homes. It’s fantastic to know we’re creating spaces that insects will truly thrive in. #weCARE

Behind the west building, our conservation area is already proving popular with local wildlife. While we weren’t quick enough to capture them on camera, foxes and deer have been making the most of the space! Our wild pond is also thriving and full of life 🌍 #WorldEarthDay

Today offered a great opportunity to bring some perspective to our place in the universe. The Year 12 students worked alongside staff to trial a potential experiment for Cycle 1 in September. Using an inflatable Sun, we explored scale within our solar system! #worldearthday

This morning, our Sixth Form students led an inspiring session with our KS3 cohort, delivering their ‘Be More Barbie’ workshop! Designed and created by our Sixth Form, the workshop aims to inspire the next generation of female leaders.

We were delighted to welcome Alex Mayer, Labour MP, to Queensbury yesterday. During her visit, Alex spent time with our Junior Leadership Team, who asked thoughtful questions about the local community, government, and the role of an MP, before enjoying a tour of the school.
